Simple County Interface

The Democracy Live Personalized Sample Ballot, the Video Voter Guide and the Online Voter Pamphlet all use the same simple setup. Using existing County election data, an election can be set up for all the online applications in less than an hour. All candidate content is approved by the County before going “live”, and a simple dashboard shows what changes need to be addressed.

The site is easily customized to reflect the look and feel of the existing County website. The County’s Logo can be uploaded and colors selected that match the County’s existing color scheme.

Democracy Live Video Voter Guide technology received approval from the University of Washington Center for Technology and Disabilities. At the request of the State of Washington, the UW reviewed and has approved Democracy Live’s video voter guide for the highest level of accessibility for use by voters with disabilities.

“The Democracy Live Video Voter Guide is a marvelous example of a universal design. It provides a valuable resource on voter information for all citizens, including those with disabilities who often lack access to this critical information about candidates and issues.” – Deborah Cook, director of the Washington Assistive Technology Program.

“Speaking as an advisory board member and parent of 21 year old son, Brian, with Down Sydrome who is a registered voter I think this is great. Brian reads at a third grade level…so currently I take the voter pamphlet we receive at the house and read each item to him, but this way we can go online and hear the candidates talking. I applaud our entry to the 21st century.” – Teri Hough, DD Program Specialist.

“This site meets all accessibiliy requirements for web applications under Section 508 of the Rehabiliation Act of 1973, as amended.”- University of Washington Center on Technology & Disability Studies
